September 1st marks the first day that residents of the northeastern US are eligible to receive one free credit report per year from each of the Big Three credit reporting bureaus. This program has not exactly been glitch-free, but it sure beats paying $10 per credit report each year, which I’ve been doing for the past couple of years. To get yours, go to AnnualCreditReport.com (and check the link that I send you to, since there several phishing sites that have been set up to catch typos).
